Connect has announced a special recharge offer for its mobile prepaid subscribers.
Its prepaid subscribers will receive an additional talk time on every recharge of Rs. 220, Rs. 330, Rs. 375 and Rs. 575 only. The extra talk time would be credited instantly after the recharge.
For every recharge of Rs. 220, subscriber shall get an additional Rs. 45, increasing the total talk time to Rs. 120, on Rs. 330, an extra Rs. 36.31 will increase the total talk time to Rs. 280, on Rs. 375 an extra talk time worth Rs. 34.01 will give an increased talk time of Rs. 333.75 and an Rs. 575 will give an extra talk time of Rs. 50, increasing the total talk time to Rs. 250.

The Connect subscribers can now dial 1777 to listen to a variety of popular music from top ten hits, to Punjabi Tadka, Bollywood Special, Evergreen songs, ghazals or English numbers.
The listeners can also tune into filmi gossips and entertaining discussions, according to a company press release.

Connect has launched its cable TV service in Patiala, which will be available to the users through selected local cable operators (LCOs) in the region. The service shall soon be available in Sangarur and Fatehgarh Sahib.
Through cable operators the cable households can get five prime channels of Connect TV, i.e. Connect Music, Connect Movies, Connect Sanskriti, Connect Punjab and Connect Chillax besides 75 regular channels. Last few years have seen extensive cable theft affecting the telephone services in the city.
Connect, one of the leading telecom companies in the region providing basic telephony and CDMA mobile services has recorded as many as 28 cable theft cases in the part few months and majorly from Sector 8, 23, 19, 35, 21, 38, 41, 44 and surrounding areas of Chandigarh, including phase-11 of Mohali.
For the last couple of years, it has become a major irritant severely affecting the telephone services causing harassment to the customers besides resulting in huge monetary loss to the telecom companies, says Connect spokesman.
Connect has set up a special cell which can be contacted through 0172-5090000 to deal with these thefts as well as to promptly restore the services in the affected areas.
The company has also involved the police, which is actively working with them to nab the culprits.
Connect shall also reward the people informing the company about such thefts with valid proof.

Connect has announced extra talk time benefit on the new activations from 9th January to 20th January 2007.
All new activations during this period will receive an additional talk time on every recharge of RC 220, RC 375, and RC575 only.
The extra talk time would be manually credited to the users account within 72 hours after the recharge, according to Infotel press release.
For instance, for RC220, subscriber shall get an additional Rs. 50 worth of talk time and on RC375, an extra Rs. 34 worth of talk time, with a validity of 30 days. On RC575 with 365 days validity, an extra talk time worth Rs. 75 would be available.
The scheme is limited to only three recharge packages and not on other recharges.

Connect (HFCL) won the seventh Cry Cadence Corporate Cricket Cup beating Sigma Infotech by seven wickets at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, Panchkula on 24th December.
Batting first, the Sigma team set a target of 134 runs in 25 overs. Aman was top scorer with 48 followed by Sandeep with 35 runs. Vivek Pathania took three wickets for 27 while Vikram and Arun claimed two wickets each.
The Connect team reached the target losing three wickets in 21 overs. Rajil made the highest unbeaten 57 runs.
Rajil of CONNECT was declared the man of the match for his match winning unbeaten performance and Batsmen of the tournament for his consisitent performances.

Chandigarh, July 19, 2006: Connect, the leading telecom service provider in Punjab and Chandigarh, today made a historic move in the Indian telecom market by making every call in Punjab and Chandigarh a local call. Going beyond offering preferred call charges on its own network, Connect, today, made history by breaking all barriers and announcing call charges of Rs. 1.20 per 3 minutes for calls made to any telecom network in the state of Punjab and Chandigarh, be it on GSM, CDMA, WLL or Fixed Line phones, thereby making every call in the state of Punjab and Chandigarh, a local call.
The reduction in call charges has resulted in a drop of 75 percent in the rates applicable on the Connect network for calls made to mobile phones in Punjab and Chandigarh. Moreover, the new rate will effectively reduce the call charges by 67 percent for calls made by Connect subscriber to any fixed line phone beyond a radius of 50km within the state of Punjab and Chandigarh. The new tariff plan will be available to all existing subscribers of Connect fixed line phones as well to subscribers enrolling for new connections from July 19, 2006.

Connect has launched semi-manned public access telephone service in Chandigarh and Punjab with smart wall-mounted units that can be installed outside the shops so that the users can make a call anytime.
This is in keeping with the Connect's mission to make telephony available to every person in the region, and already nearly 160 such units have been installed in Chandigarh and Ludhiana in last fortnight. The PCO boxes are also being launched in Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Bhatinda.
Customers can now call any destination on any phone across India from this smart Coin Collection Box PCOs for just Re.1.
The calls are charged on 60 seconds pulse for local and 30 seconds for intra-Punjab and STD calls.
Users can make calls by inserting Re 1 coin for each pulse and can continue to talk by inserting more coins when prompted.
